8 Christmas Movies Guaranteed to Get You in the Holiday Spirit

With Christmas right around the corner, collegiettes are chomping at the bit to get home for winter break. Although finals are difficult sometimes a little escape is exactly what you need! Take a break with our favorite Christmas movies!

1. Love Actually: This classic british film is a reminder that love is all around us. Hugh Grant stars in this witty and timeless Christmas tale guaranteed to make you laugh and cry simultaneously.

2. The Year Without A Santa Clause: Ever wonder what Christmas would be like if Santa had to take a sick day? This 1957 family classic reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas and that everyone needs a day off once in a while.

3. Miracle on 34th Street: This Academy Award winning film tells the story of Kris Kringle as he becomes Santa Claus for Macy’s flagship store in NYC. This classic film spawned several remakes and a Broadway musical and reminds viewers of the importance of believing.

4. The Santa Clause: Tim Allen stars as Scott, a divorced father who accidentally takes on the role of Santa Clause. Scott learns his way through his new job with the help of his son, Charlie. 

5. White Christmas: Irving Berlin’s Christmas classic tells the story of love during a difficult and very different piece of American history.

6. How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Jim Carrey stars as the Grinch in this 2000s hit. Watch his heart grow three sizes as he encounters Taylor Momsen before her days on Gossip Girl. 

7. Home Alone: John Hughes’ 1990 Christmas classic follows Kevin McCallister as his parents leave him at home on their way to Paris for a Christmas vacation. The sequel to this classic also features President-Elect Donald Trump.

8. Christmas With the Kranks: Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis star in this Christmas comedy about the gift of family and all of the chaos that comes along with it.
