If there’s anything that practically makes staying in bed a career, it’s cold weather. What a great time for Mother Nature to usher in the arctic tundra and dump it’s harsh wintry contents all over Mary Baldwin’s Campus… especially when midterms are coming up!
While nothing can really make this stress go away, a little comfort food can make any situation better!
Affogato: an Italian dessert that mixes an energy booster with a girl’s sweetest best friend (it contains both coffee and ice cream). Here’s a quick and easy recipe to help bring some tasty delight to your upcoming all-nighters!
Affogato
Ingredients:
2 scoops of ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, or coffee for an added pick-me-up)
1 shot of espresso (or 3 tbsp of strongly brewed coffee)
1 tsp shaved chocolate
1 tsp chopped hazelnuts
Directions:
Put the scoops of ice cream in a cup of your choosing, although a coffee mug would probably work best. Pour the espresso over the ice cream and then top it off with a healthy sprinkling of chocolate and nuts.
And there you have it! A quick and delicious dessert to help you get through a long night of studying!
