As a university student, it can be difficult to maintain a busy social schedule and the stress of studying for exams while simultaneously trying to eat healthy. While in the short term you might be tempted to grab a bag of chips or cookies, it will be much more beneficial for your overall health and energy level to munch on something more nutritious. Here are five delicious and healthy snack ideas that are easy to whip up for your next trip to the library:

1. Apples and Peanut Butter

Ingredients:

  • sliced-up apple
  • 2 tablespoons of peanut butter

 

2. Fresh Fruit Trail Mix

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 a handful of mixed nuts
  • 1/2 a handful fresh grapes and berries

 

3. Banana-Peanut Butter Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of toasted whole-wheat bread
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter
  • 1/2 of a sliced banana
  • honey and chia seeds (to drizzle over)

 

4. Veggies & Hummus

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of hummus
  • sliced carrots
  • sliced red peppers
  • sliced celery

 

5. Multigrain Crackers & Cheese 

Ingredients:

  • 8 multi-grain crackers
  • 8 thin slices of sharp cheddar
