Name: My name is Forrest Corbett. Major: I am a Technical Communication Major. I hope to go back home to Kentucky and work with grass roots organizations.Relationship status: SingleHobbies: I am an avid hiker and backpacker. I love getting away from it all and enjoying nature. I also love to build things. One of my favorite things in the world is to work on my family’s lake house with my dad.
Campus involvement: I am an RA in Plunkett Hall, which the Res Life staff lovingly calls Plunkcity. Plunkcity is my home. I’ve been there since my freshman year (3 years) and there is no better place to live. My other activities on campus are AWARE, of which I am the Lead Peer Educator, and working at the ARC as a Lab Assistant. Favorite food: I’m not sure if I can choose! There is so much great food out there! I can tell you my favorite drink though. There is a soda back home called Ale-8-1. It is only made and sold in Kentucky and is definitely the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth.Role model: Anyone with a beard or mustache.
Pet peeves: Chewing with your mouth open. Being unaccepting of other people just because they are different than you. Any road in or around Atlanta.Favorite part of going to Mercer: I love being an RA. It is the most rewarding thing I have done in college for sure. I love to interact with my residents, get to know them, and have the opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives. I love the staff. They are fun, crazy, driven, talented, amazing, and the best thing to happen to me at Mercer. I came to Mercer for the academics but I stayed because of the family I gained when I joined res life. RES LIFE BEST LIFE!!!!!
Ideal date: It’s not something I’ve really put a lot of thought into. If I had to come up with something on the fly it would probably be something like this. My date and me would hike up to a high spot on a mountain somewhere with a great view of nothing but open wilderness, no civilization aloud in the view, and have lunch. Just sit up there talking about what ever, enjoying nature. What is the first quality you look for in a partner? Trust and communication
