Music is not for your ears, it is for your soul. It changes your mood; it makes you feel good. Whether you are “Down and Out” or while on your “Pursuit of Happiness”, it puts a smile on your face.
Cudi fans around the nation have been waiting for him to come out with new material that was similar to the older tracks that he used to produce. In the beginning of this year, he delivered an album that, for the most part, did just that entitled Indicud.
This album was a mixture of his own vocals, songwriting, and production skills consisting of eighteen tracks. After his announcement of leaving GOOD Music, he decided to solely produce this album. Cudi began to write his own songs and generate his own beats that would match the meanings of his lyrics. He decided to go back to his “Man on the Moon” persona, creating songs entitled “Immortal” and “Mad Solar.” Along with these two out-of-this-world songs, he also wrote “Solo Dolo, Part II” a second installment to “Solo Dolo,” a song from his first Man on the Moon album.
With this new album came tour dates. Kid Cudi, starting from August 22nd and ending on October 18th, is touring around the United States and Canada. He has three other artists who will perform as his opening act: Logic (an upcoming rapper), Tyler, the Creator, and Big Sean. Along with these artists, appearances from King Chip have been made. Kid Cudi’s show carries on his “Man on the Moon” persona as he enters each stage through moon rock formations while wearing his fitted astronaut suit. He sings from the heart at every concert, telling stories through his lyrics while trying to relate to his fans.
Kid Cudi’s new album Indicud goes to show that the “Man on the Moon” is back.
