Give yourself some space
Although it’s easier said than done, cut yourself off from your ex. Yes, this means no stalking them on Instagram. Block them if you have to, but don’t let your crazy side win!
2) Talk about it
Don’t keep all your feelings inside; tell your best friend, sister, mom, or whoever else you trust. Their emotional support will lift a weight off of your shoulders.
3) Spend time with yourself
Allow yourself to cry and let all your feelings out. It’s okay to spend the night crying with a pint of ice cream in your lap as you watch The Notebook. Just make sure you get back up in the morning with a fresh start.
4) Don’t be afraid to treat yourself every once in awhile
Go to the spa, get your nails done, go shopping. The goal is to feel relaxed and at ease! You deserve it.
5) Exercise and eat healthier
Working out is a great stress reliever, and you just feel better when you eat healthy. And hey, there’s nothing wrong with showing your ex what he’s missing.
6) Plan a night out with your girls
If anyone is there for you, it’s them. Go dancing, stay in with a movie and popcorn, or just go to dinner. Whatever you guys do, just laugh, have a good time, and be the bosses that you are.
7) Spend time with yourself (again).
Only this time, try to not cry with ice cream in your lap. Try to self reflect about what you’ve learned from everything. Think about what you’ve learned and how you’ll use this knowledge in your next relationship. And also remember: you’re one breakup closer to finding the one.
8) Be patient
The list could go on and on, but at the end of the day, breakups are hard. There’s no way around it. However, time is the ultimate healer. Take it one day at a time and before you know it, days will turn into weeks, and weeks will turn into months, and the wounds will be healed.
