Alternatives to Uggs: Our Favorite Boots

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Miami (OH) chapter.

The winter solstice accompanied us about a month ago, and as every student at Miami knows, girls all over campus have busted out their boots- I’m talking about UGGs and riding boots. We’ve all seen them walking to class every day. And if you’re a female Miami student, there is a good chance you own both pairs too.
We love our trends! But let’s branch out. We have to keep warm, and why look boring while doing so?

UGGs and leather boots are always an easy resort, but let’s get more original.

Nordstrom carries a really cute pair of Steve Madden moccasin boots for $80. They also have flaps that fold over with a really adorable print. Wear these with a pair of dark skinnies, a chunky sweater and scarf, and you will be sure to look trendy wherever you go.

If moccasin boots aren’t up your alley, maybe these bad boys are. Journey’s sells Sorel snow boots for $110. These boots aren’t boring, and your feet will be warmer while wearing them. The material will help them dry more quickly than the fabric on UGGs.

These Sorel boots have bright red shoestrings, which adds a little more oomph to them. They have fleece lining on the inside–sounds really cozy! These boots could also be worn with some skinnies and a nice parka! Hey, who said you can’t be warm and stylish at the same time?

Another option that you trendy gals may want to partake in could be the suede cowboy booties. These adorable boots come in a few colors at Charlotte Russe for about $40. Wearing our knee-high leather boots with jeans can get slightly boring after a while. These boots have a little heel, so they are perfect if you want to spice up an outfit when you are going out with friends to dinner. They could be paired with a girly dress and really fun colored tights.
