As a photographer, I usually use Adobe Lightroom to edit my photos that I take with my camera. However, when I use my phone, there are some GREAT apps that can give you a similar look to professional photos. Here is a list of some of my favorite apps.
1. Aviary
Aviary is one of the first editing apps I downloaded. It’s super simple and effective; it has the basics like brightness/contrast/saturation etc., but also options to whiten teeth, fix blemishes, draw on top of photos, and add overlays. It’s perfect for anyone who is a beginner or wants to keep it simple.
2. VSCO
VSCO is like Instagram in that you can follow your friends and see their photos on your feed, but there are no likes/ comments! Most people use VSCO for its great filters and editing options (By using the C1 filter, you can make almost ANYTHING look cool). VSCO is super simple to use and has some of the best effects I’ve seen.
3. Glitché
With this app, you can edit photos, videos, and even straight from your camera. The effects are cutting-edge and turn ordinary photos psychedelic. There are so many colorful options (my favorite is “Blur”). It is also one of the few apps that have a fisheye filter!
