Spring Break Is Over… Now What?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Miami (OH) chapter.

Spring break is sadly over! As college students, we know that our time is precious, and having a week off from almost all of our obligations is a blessing. While it is important to relax, this time is so valuable. Here are some tips on how to make the most of your first week back!

  1. Plan your summer!

Summer is only a month and a half away, so spring break is a good time to lock down your summer plans. Whether this means getting an internship, applying for summer jobs, or planning a vacation, you don’t want to be worrying about this at the end of the semester, so use this break to get everything organized.

  1. Get ahead on upcoming classwork

It never hurts to get a jump on some upcoming assignments if you have the time. This will make the next few weeks much easier and give you a head start on the final six weeks of the semester.

  1. Spend quality time with your family

Use this as some much needed recovery time and hang out with your family if you have the chance. Go to to the movies, out to brunch, on a hike or just have a game night at home. Your family will really appreciate spending time with you and you will be grateful for it especially when you’re drowning in work during finals.

  1. Update your wardrobe for spring

It’s time to (hopefully) pack away the parkas and boots and bring out the tanks and sandals! Focus on getting your wardrobe ready for all the fun that lies ahead in Spring.

  1. Plan your schedule for fall semester

Soon it will be time to register for classes in the fall. This week is a good time to plan out what classes you want to take and fit it all in to make your schedule. Getting this out of the way over now will eliminate most of the stress of registration and allow you to be more relaxed as registration time approaches.

  1. Read a book for fun

During the semester, we rarely have time to read books for fun with all of our school work and crazy schedules. Pick up a book that interests you and give your brain a rest from all the stresses of school. It’s a great way to relax without binging Netflix for the ten days straight (which of course is acceptable too).

  1. Get a pedicure

Spring is coming which means it’s flip flop season! Pamper yourself with a pedicure. Get ready for spring by taking off the dark shades of red and blue and getting a pastel color like lilac or baby pink.
