Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and while everyone is getting ready to stuff their faces, some people are preparing for Black Friday. The unofficial holiday has people finishing their Thanksgiving dinner early so they can make it to the stores later that evening or early the next morning. It is a shopping addict’s dream come true to have deals upon deals upon deals available in all their favorite stores. Whether you are shopping this coming Friday or you are working, it is certainly a day everyone needs to brace themselves for. Here are some steps on how to prepare.

1. Get a good night’s rest

Everything is better when you get the proper amount of sleep for the night. Whether you are working early hours or getting ready to go baragining for deals, being fully rested will help with the long day to come.

2. Look up all of great deals

There are endless amounts of fliers stuffed in your mailbox and emails being sent to you prior to Black Friday. So you take your time and scan through the sales and anything that catches your eye.  After looking through all of them, you might realize that there are so many things you “need” and you have no idea how your going to manage to get everything in time.

3. Wear the coziest outfit

The morning of Black Friday, you have to pick out a very comfy outfit such as sweatpants and a sweatshirt. After all, who wants to be looking all put together so early in the morning after you just consumed enough food to last you until the next holiday? Also, don’t forget some comfortable, supportive shoes so you can be buzzing around the aisles.

4. Get. Coffee.

Coffee is always a must in the mornings, but it’s essential on Black Friday. Everyone needs to have a couple of cups to get them through the long day of shopping or working for that matter. Just remember to always be patient and kind to your barista since they are trying to prepare for a long day ahead as well.

5.Get a good parking spot

If you get a parking spot closer to the front, you will obviously be one of the first people to enter the store and snag all the great deals. So remember to get to your first destnation early, but not so early that you’re camping out in your car.

6. Get ready for the stores to open their doors

This is what you have been preparing all year for. The doors will finally open and all bets are off. So remember to contain your happy tears and put a brave face on for the chaos that will quickly be unfolding.

7. Prepare to knock out anyone who gets in your way

Along with Black Friday comes some very aggressive people. Every year on the news, there are always reports of people fighting over an item and some people getting trampled. It seems ironic that people would be treating each other like this after a day of just saying what they are thankful for but nonetheless, it still happens.. So remember to maintain your poise but be ready to get a little aggressvie if someone oversteps any boundaries.

8. Have your eyes set on your goal

When you walk into the store of your choice on Black Friday, you know exactly what you want. So you keep your eye on the prize as you walk all the way around, making sure that people know what you are going after. Whether it be a toy, a new flatscreen TV, or a sweater, make sure you don’t let it lose your sight before you get to it.

9. Walk out of the store feeling accomplished

Congratulations, you survived Black Friday. You got up early, waited in long lines and most importantly, you got the deals. Now you can start preparing your countdown to Black Friday 2017.

10. Wait for Cyber Monday to get more great deals

Whether you decided to skip the craziness of Black Friday or want to indulge in more shopping, Cyber Monday is right around the corner. Unlike going out in the crowd, you can get all the deals from the comfort of your own home in your pajamas come Monday morning.

So get ready and rest up, collegiates, because Black Friday is going to be another crazy day to go down in the record books. Also, remember to respect all the employees working on Black Friday as they are just trying to do their job and help everyone with their shopping needs.
