4 Ways to Treat Yourself During Thanksgiving Break

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

Let’s face it, collegiettes,Ā this semester has been rough. Between taking exams, writing lengthy papers, and juggling extracurricular activities and/or a part-time job, you haven’t been able to take care of yourself the way you’ve wanted to. Now that Thanksgiving break is approaching,Ā you’ll (finally) have some down-time — so make the most of it! Here are a few ways you can treat yourself this coming week:

1. Have an at-home spa day

If you’re looking to seriously unwind and de-stress, I suggest taking a hot bath, listening to your favorite music, and trying out a new face mask! I’m currently obsessed with the 7 Wonders masks by Leaders Cosmetics! Since there are three masks in the 7 Wonders line — the Amazonian Acai Anti-pollution mask, the Caribbean Coconut Calming mask, and the Kalahari Melon Moisturizing maskĀ — I seriously recommend trying a new mask every other day of break. By the time you come back to school, your skin will be feeling refreshed, hydrated, and oh-so-supple!

And while you’re enjoying your at-home spa-day, take the opportunity to (finally) shave your legs withĀ the Pure Silk Shave Cream in Raspberry Mist. Trust me, your legs will feel so clean and touchably smooth!

2. Make yourself a cup of tea

Recently, I discovered Yogi, a brand of feel-good teaĀ that is just as tasty as it is healthy. Yogi was inspired by the holistic teachings of Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine, and Western herbalism. While there are over 60 varieties of green, black, and herbal tea in this line, my favorite by far are the Green Tea Blueberry Slim-Life and Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy. This is some tea you won’t want to spill.Ā

3. Curl up with a good book

I know, I know, we’ve spent the entire semester reading. But what’s a great cup of tea without a great book to accompany it? I recently signed up for Book of the Month, a subscription service that is tailored entirely to your genre preferences and how many books you read over the course of a month. Members can select the book(s) they’d like to receive and don’t have to worry about paying any shipping fees. Plus, you can even choose to skip a month, so there’s no pressure to finish reading a book if you don’t have the time! But let’s be real: the books the BOTM team select are so good you won’t want to put them down.

4. Get your squad together!

One of the best parts of coming home for break is seeing your friends! You’ve all been busy with school and work, so take this time to go out, cut loose, and catch up! But before you can hit the town and create a whole new level of #squadgoals, you’ll need toĀ beat your face with some unbeatable makeup that’ll stay in place all night long. My holy grail brand is, without a doubt, Rimmel London. From their Natural Bronzer, to their Scandaleyes Mascara and Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner, to their Provocalips 16HR Kissproof Lip Colour, Rimmel’sĀ staying power is unlikeĀ anything else you’ll find at the drugstore.

No matter what your plans are this Thanksgiving, make sure to take some time for yourself. You deserve to relax as much as possible before classes resume, especially with finals week just around the corner.Ā

Millersville

I am a senior at Millersville University, where I am pursuing my bachelor's in communication studies. As the Editor-in-Chief of Her Campus Millersville, I am so thrilled to be able to lead and collaborate with the many creative students that populate our campus. My personal mission as EIC is to spread the word about Her Campus Millersville and bring the chapter back up to pink-level before I graduate in May 2017. In my spare time, I love binge-watching Grey's Anatomy on Netflix and spending time with my fiancƩ and our families. I'm also a sales associate at my local LOFT store and a proud fur mama to a sweet pup named Java. My passions include social media, fashion, coffee, and bad puns. My ultimate dream is to work for Her Campus Media at their headquarters in Boston, MA -- let's hope I can make it there! Instagram: @dezidonaldson
