Well collegiates, it’s that time of year again! Now that summer is over, it’s back to spending countless hours reading, making flash cards, and writing ridiculously long reports. If you’re looking for a good place to study and get your work done around campus, here are some of the best spots Millersville has to offer!
1. McNairy Library’s Reading Room
Located right next to Starbucks, the reading room has floor to ceiling windows that allow you to pretend you’re not actually stuck in the library all day. Comfy seats with footrests and desks are available, as well as couches if you’re trying to do some work with friends. Grab some coffee and get to work in this super quiet space. Keep in mind, if you’re easily distracted by people watching, this may not be the place for you. It’s easy to get caught up in a day dream in this room.
2.Saxbys
Another great place to get your coffee and study sesh all at once! Saxbys offers a unique environment with music, a fire place, and plenty of coffee and snacks. Plenty of tables are available for groups, or if you’re working alone, grab a table by the windows. However, if noise is a distraction for you, this may not be the best place for you.
3. The Pond
This spot is perfect on a warm sunny day. Grab a blanket and find a good spot around the perimeter of the pond. The scenery offers relaxation, and gives you the chance to get outside instead of being cooped up inside. Feel free to bring some snacks for the ducks while you’re there! *Beware, the swans bite!*
4. The Quad
If you don’t mind noise, people, and the occasional friendly ant, this the spot for you. The quad offers a great green space for people to study and hang out. Be wary of sports games going on and remember to bring your sun screen!
5. Club de ‘Ville
Despite the name, this place is not a club. In fact, it’s a really great place to go if you want somewhere quiet to work. Located on the bottom floor of the SMC, Club de ‘Ville offers plenty of tables, computers, and cozy seats. Get to work here if you don’t want to be found.
If you’re looking for more study spaces, simply take a walk around our beautiful campus and find a spot that works best for you! Good luck this semester collegiattes!
