Her Campus Millersville: What organizations are you involved in on campus?
Catrina Snyder: I was in UAB my freshman year, and I’m in Alpha Sigma Alpha ever since the fall of 2010, I used to be Fundraising Chairman and now I am the Ritual Chairman.
HCM: What campus jobs do you hold?
CS: I’ve worked at the old Galley, the Anchor and now the new Galley and starting next semester, I will be student manager of the Galley. Galley Student Manager entails making the schedule, helping with hiring, dealing with customer complaints and any necessary disciplinary action towards employees. My favorite part about working at the Galley is I get to work directly with people and meet new people every day. It’s relatively simple and I don’t have to work weekends!
HCM: Have you had any internships?
CS: No, but this summer I will be doing an internship back home in Williamsport, PA working for First National Bank. I will be a bank teller, but working for different locations in the Lycoming County area, wherever they need me.
HCM: What is your favorite part about your sorority ASA?
CS: I get to be a part of something bigger than me. ASA has taught me so much; it’s helped me become a better person.
HCM: Would you recommend someone joining Greek life?
CS: Yes, because it’s a huge support system. Greek life, at least here at Millersville, is not like what everyone thinks it is; it’s so much better than that. You get to meet new people, create new memories and make a difference. It’s truly a great experience.
HCM:What is your favorite thing about Millersville?
CS: t’Is a small town close to a city. I love the scenery such as the pond and the fountain. I love the mall, because it’s so much better than the one at home. I also like that it’s only about an hour from Philly, which is where my sister lives.
HCM: What would be your advice for younger students?
CS: Don’t be afraid to try new things and put yourself out there. I know it can be really hard to do so, but you won’t enjoy college if you don’t.
HCM: Have you ever traveled outside of the country?
CS: I’ve been to Cancun, Mexico twice, once in 2008 during my junior year of high school and just last May with my family members and my boyfriend.
