“There’s no time to be bored in a world as beautiful as this…”

Whether it’s a weeklong vacation or just a day trip, I love to travel! There is always a unique coffee shop, restaurant, store, or park worth visiting! Traveling can introduce us to new cultures and help us learn more about the world around us. It can also teach you a lot about yourself. With a world so large, my dream is to see it all. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to some amazing cities, and I hope to continue this throughout my life. Here are 5 of my favorite places I’ve visited:

1. Atlanta, Georgia

Georgia is one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to! There are so many things to see and do here. Georgia is known as the “Hollywood of the South” and when I visited, there were many sets from familiar shows and movie sets! One town just outside of Atlanta is called Covington, also known as Mystic Falls, where the hit series The Vampire Diaries was filmed. Other movies that were filmed in Atlanta include the The Last Song, Footloose, and the After series. Atlanta has beautiful views which make for some amazing film locations. Seeing where some of my favorite shows and movies were filmed was truly a dream come true and something I will never forget.

2. Charleston, South Carolina

I had vacationed to both Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina and it was such a fun week! Being near the ocean, going to restaurants, and exploring all the history made for a really cool experience. There are so many memories I have of this city! The weather is perfect in the summer and the city is just beautiful. On the last night, we went on a dinner cruise in Charleston. Live music, delicious food, and a gorgeous ocean view was a great way to end the trip and I can’t wait to go back, hopefully soon!

3. Nashville, Tennessee

Queue the country music! Tennessee culture is so fun and so is the city. I have been here a few times, including Dollywood and most recently Nashville and Memphis. There is so much to do in Nashville including the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry. My hometown dance studio was fortunate enough to be able to perform on the Grand Ole Opry stage, and it was such a surreal feeling. This entire trip was filled with memorable moments, but visiting the King Elvis Presley’s house was a once in a lifetime experience. During our time in Memphis, I got to see Elvis’s Graceland house, cars, outfits, instruments, and so much more. Overall, Tennessee is an amazing place filled with rich country culture and history.

4. Washington DC

Our Capital! DC is another city filled with history that you should visit at least once in your life! Each building tells a different story from the Whitehouse, Washington Monument, and Lincoln Memorial. There is also the Library of Congress as well as the Smithsonians and so much. It is also right across the water from the amazing small town of Alexandria, Virginia. I visited both DC and Alexandria this past summer and it was such a fun little weekend trip. The city is filled with historical parks, statues, music, and food. I also loved the Big Bus Tour that takes you around DC and shows you exclusive views of the city. The possibilities are endless at our Capitol and if you ever find yourself near it, DC is worth the visit!

5. New York City

The most popular and arguably famous places on my list is NYC! I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve visited the Big Apple, but every time I do, it’s a dream! New York holds such a wide range of opportunities and adventures. Some of my favorite things in life are live music, concerts, and of course, Broadway. I have been to New York for all of the above. Some of my all-time favorite shows I’ve seen are Wicked, Waitress, Aladdin, and Dear Evan Hansen. A successful day in New York for me is shopping, getting some authentic food, and then seeing a show! There is nothing like the view of skyscraper buildings and the skyline of this beautiful city; one of my all-time favorites.

Each of these cities hold a special place in my heart. I’ve made a ton of memories, met lots of people, and got to live so many lives within each city. I have so many dream destinations that are still on my bucket list, and I hope to continue my love for traveling in the future.
