New Feather Fashions

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

This past summer we were hit with a new flock of trends…feathers. It started as a simple hair extension then moved to jewelry and clothing. As it started in the summer the trend has continued into the fall as a newly unique accessory.

Whether it is a necklace a pair of earrings or even a top, feathers have exploded in the fashion world. As some earrings are bright in colors, such as turquoise and bright pinks and oranges, it can make any outfit pop. If you are keeping it casual and simple add a touch of color with a pair of feather earrings and make yourself stand out and look unique.

Necklaces are always a good way to dress up any outfit, with a nice top or even with a nice sweater, especially for fall. Days where you don’t want to wear a scarf as another fall favorite accessory and you want to change it up, long layered necklaces are a very nice way of looking trendy and feathers have made their way into this look.

Neutral colors such as browns and blush pinks are added into the mix of the necklace look which keeps the colors of fall intact. I love the long necklace look with feathers, it’s very cute and very unique and can make any outfit stand out and look trendy.

Some feather accessories can be over the top but you can keep it simple with a necklace that is cute and still fashionable. Bright colored earrings can be new for anyone to wear but its unique and a way to dress up your outfit and make it stand out. Even feather print has evolved into the fashion scene. Mostly seen in bohemian and tank tops the look is very cute and different.

I think the feather print is very fall fashioned and as popular leopard print has gotten over these past seasons, I can see feather print becoming the new print to be seen wearing. Being different is always uniquely found in the fashion world and feathers is new and unique and a great way to express yourself and be bold in any outfit.
