Hello! It’s your friendly college creative, Hannah. If you’re like me, you tend to get stuck in creative ruts. School is a theif of time and my motivation to create anything is nowhere to be found. Painting? Writing? Bullet journaling? Collaging? I’d much rather be curled up in bed playing the Sims 4 and eating ice cream. Now, there’s nothing wrong with taking healthy breaks! However, every time I do manage to find time to create, I immediately feel my soul start shining. Doing arts and crafts can cheer me up like nobody can.Â
So, imagine my absolute excitement when I walked past the book isle in Michaels and I see this book:
This has got to easily be the coolest, most aesthetically pleasing book I have ever seen. I bought it immediately and every time I open it, I feel inspired and excited! Here’s some info about Flow Magazine:
Flow Magazine is a Dutch magazine where readers can explore their love of paper, focusing on happiness and mindfulness. Several pages in the magazine can be used for crafting, and the magazine encourages you to rip out the pages, paint all over it, etc etc. Flow Magazines are printed on a variety of papers to encourage you to think outside the box. Magazines can be found at Barnes and Noble or online here.
The magazine has branched out to create numerous interactive books that cover mindfulness, drawing, love, and everything creative! They also have stationary, diaries, and calendars, all utilizing art from amazing artists that work for them! Flow Magazine’s website has blog posts, book reccomendations, and mindfulness articles for you to read for free.Â
I know this seems like a fairly short article, but hey, I’m itching to go draw in my Flow Magazine book! Whenever you feel the urge to create, follow that urge. Express yourself through your favorite art form. If Flow Magazine helps give you even an ounce of motivation, let me know! They are seriously one of the coolest creative brands out there that I know of, and I hope I could pass some of my movtivation from Flow Magazine to you :)
HCXO,
Hannah N
