Winter Coat Trends

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

Thanksgiving is a few weeks away and before we know it winter will be here. As the leaves are falling around us so have the temperatures and that means coat weather has arrived! Sweaters and cardigans will no longer be bearable to wear to and from class but on a happy note this means new coat trends for the cold weather. This season is all about pea, trench, military, and leather coats.

Pea coats are cute, stylish, and look good with any outfit. Bold colors are in with the pea coat style such as blues, golden yellows, green, and white.

Pea and trench coats share a similar style but trench coats usually are longer with a belt across the waist. These are in this season as with the patterns that come with it. Checkered, plaid and different style patterns are stylish with the trench coat and are perfect colors for the winter look.

Plain colors are also in as well and can coordinate with whatever you choose to wear with it especially boots, flats or moccasins, and you can even coordinate the same shoe looks into the pea coats as well.

Military style has made its way into the look of coats and is one of the season’s popular looks. I like this style because it’s different very chic and trendy. It’s a tight fit and the buttons add style and makes the coat stand out which I like instead of plain style.

Every season the leather coat has never failed to be out of style and always is the must have coat look.  Brown, black, and light brown are the colors of leather and is perfect for dressing up and dressing down and a good going out jacket. It’s the look of fall and even goes into the winter trend which saves money because you can wear it in both seasons.

Any of these looks are perfect for keeping warm and looking stylish across campus and throughout the winter season!
