Year in School: Sophomore
Major/Minor: Public Relations & Spanish Studies

A city girl at heart, I love to explore, shop, and meet new people. Reading with a cup of coffee in hand is one of my favorite things to do, and I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my puppy, Bella. I also love writing, traveling, photography, and being around people that can make me laugh, because I believe laughter is a vital part of life.

I am ecstatic to be part of the Her Campus – Minnesota Team! Through the University, I am a member of Women in Business, American Marketing Association, and L.I.F.E (Lending, Investing, Financing, Empowering.) I love fashion, glitter, and the color pink. You can often me hanging out with friends or on my computer catching up on celebrity gossip and Facebook. Go Gophers!

Major/Minors: Advertising Major with Art & Design Minors
Hometown: Zumbrota, MN
I was locally grown here in the great state of Minnesota and although I love Minneapolis, I also enjoy traveling the world. I currently work in the study abroad office (I’m upstairs, you might not see me) and I love my job. On campus I’m involved with the National Student Advertising Competition and am the creative director for a student ad agency. I like reading Her Campus, but I also enjoy painting, watching Mad Men, running, and eating gelato in my spare time. I’m always up for trying something new and going somewhere I haven’t been before!

Martha Kirby
Year in School: Junior
Major/Minor: Advertising & Design Studies
Martha is currently completing an internship in event planning. She is a member of the University of Minnesota Advertising Club and is also the copy writing director of the student-run advertising agency “Verge” on campus. In the future she hopes to do marketing for an action sports company on the west coast. She is also interested, however in writing, event planning and advertising. In her free time she enjoys dancing, circus arts, travel and spending time with her family.

By being an avid reader (especially of Her Campus articles), I was thrilled to have gotten the opportunity to write for HC- Minnesota! A Minnesota native, I love the fall, Caribou Coffee, the color pink, Harry Potter movies, watching sports, family/friends, music and chocolate covered pretzels. Although I’m Pre-Law, I enjoy reading and writing in my spare time. You’ll most likely find me with a book in my hand (well, on my Kindle) or volunteering with my sorority sisters. I’m a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and I’m SO excited to share my journey at the University of Minnesota!

Year in school: Junior
Major/Minor: Strategic Communication & Management
I came to the University of Minnesota as a freshman not knowing a single person. It was both intimidating and exciting. Now in my third year on campus, I’ve settled in, joined different groups, and met some amazing people. I have found my new home at the U. I’ve experienced the University of Minnesota from all different perspectives: sorority member, student athlete, Honors Program member, and more. I know what it feels like to be lost in this big campus, but I’m happy to share my experiences and help everyone find their ‘place’ at the U!
Brianna Kolb
Year in school: Fifth Year
Major: Public Relations
Hometown: Rochester, Minnesota
On campus I am a member of PRSSA, and now part of the Her Campus Minnesota team! I am an avid reader, music enthusiast, and I love to write. I’m often found with coffee in hand and my headphones in – as I’ve found coffee and music are the perfect fuel to keep me going. You can expect beauty product and music reviews from me, as well as other topics that are relevant to the U of M campus.

Preparing to graduate this December, I spend a lot of time researching possible employers and trying to prepare myself for a post-grad life. I unwind by reading for fun (a phenomenon during the school year!), cooking, and by looking at fun and beautiful blogs! I also love the Italian language, shopping, and spending quality time with my friends and family. I really look forward to sharing with you all and give you some insights about the U and college life in general!
