The spring semester has begun. But who cares about that?! Binge these TV shows as a much-needed therapy tool against the onslaught of syllabi, professors and long homework assignments. Enjoy!Â
Sex Education
This is probably one of the best shows Netflix has ever came out with. Dramatic, I know! But it’s so true. This is a British TV show where Otis, a high schooler with a sex therapist for a mom, starts a business venture where he gives out sex advice to his peers in exchange for money. Maeve, the bad girl of their grade, handles the business side of things, and Otis’ best friend Eric provides the emotional support. It sounds raunchy and sophomoric, but Sex Education portrays such a sweet, raw and honest look into developing sexuality and interpersonal relationships. Eric’s storyline as a gay black high schooler with religious parents in a predominantly straight school is genuine, earnest and reflective, which isn’t something we usually see on TV right now. And even though this show touches on so many topical issues such as reproductive rights, performance anxiety, parent-child relationships and young love, it’s also absolutely hilarious. Go watch it!Â

Tidying Up with Marie Kondo
This isn’t your typical makeover show. Instead, lifestyle genius Marie Kondo enters people’s houses and helps them turn their space from an annoying and cluttered burden into a something helpful, streamlined and relaxing. She shows people how to treasure their possessions and find the joy in what they own, rather that their belongings being stressful clutter. It’s an incredibly relaxing show to watch, but be warned, it will almost definitely make you want to purge your own apartment/house/dorm. Trust me, it will change your life!Â

LovesickÂ
Here me out: Lovesick is one of the best, complex and genuine romantic comedies out there right now, and it deserves a watch. Romantic comedies have kind of gone downhill in the last decade or so, lacking in that special sense of heartbreak, want and longing that made classics such as When Harry Met Sally, 10 Things I Hate About You and Four Weddings and A Funeral so enjoyable. They made you feel things! And that’s exactly what Lovesick does. It’s a UK show about Dylan, a 20-something romantic who finds out he has chlamydia and has to contact all his exes to inform them. Each episode focuses on a different ex, and a narrative is constructed; throughout this 6-year period, he has pined for one girl in particular, and the feeling is mutual. But, as we all know, life and the painful reality of love can get in the way of happiness. Trust me, you’ll be obsessed.Â
