5 Shows You Can’t Miss This Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

The best part about fall besides the cold weather, crunchy leaves and leggings is the exciting new shows that drag you to the couch each week. Here are some new (and one old) to kick start your fall hibernation.

1. “Saturday Night Live”

The new season of this fan favorite starts October 1 on NBC with host Margot Robbie. New cast members will be joining the show, including the show’s first Latin American female comedian. We can expect nothing less than side-splitting sketches throughout the new season.

2. “Conviction”

Starring Hayley Atwell from “Agent Carter,” this ABC drama is set to premiere October 3. The show is about Hayes Morrison, who avoids jail and hurting her mother’s Senate campaign and joins a team to overturn conviction cases. The trailer had me on the edge of my seat, and the idea of a drama focusing around wrongful convictions is a new breath of fresh air from the usual TV shows right now.

3. “Timeless”

From the producers of “The Blacklist” and the director of “Game of Thrones” comes a nail-biting action adventure series coming to NBC on October 3. The first seconds of the trailer had me on my toes, and I personally can’t wait for the show to start. “Timeless” is a show about time travel and a criminal who stole a time machine to rewrite history. The series has drama, action, humor and a little science fiction, making it the perfect show for people to watch together.

4. “Divorce”

The queen of “Sex and the City” has finally returned! Sarah Jessica Parker is back in this HBO comedy starting October 9. The show encircles a couple who, after their 10 years of marriage, decide to get a divorce. Get all the girls together for this premiere and decide for yourself which one you’ll like more.

5. “Falling Water”

Set to premiere on USA on October 13, “Falling Water” is an “Inception”-esque show centered around three strangers who slowly start to realize they are dreaming different parts of the same dream. The show was created by the producer of “The Walking Dead,” and stars actors from “Homeland” and “American Horror Story.” This intense drama will have your mind and heart racing as you watch the characters make an insane revelation about the truth behind their shared dreams.
