Â
Hometown: St. Louis, Mo.
          Â
Major: Journalism (print and digital news) and Political Science
Â
Relationship status: “I’m in a relationship with Jenny Sanchez. She has the ability to put me in a better mood no matter what. She always puts a smile on my face.”
Â
Pets: “I have a cat named Monty, and recently a few of my friends adopted a puppy named Baloo from our philanthropy event!”
Â
Dream job: Working in Washington D.C. as a political correspondent or working for the White House Press Staff.
Â
Involvement on campus: “I’m the skit director and secretary of Delta Sigma Phi, and that takes up most of my time. I’m going to write for the Missourian and am hoping to write for the public life section about local government and the sports section.”
Â
Ideal first date: “I took my girlfriend out on our first date on Valentine’s Day. My ideal first date is dinner and a movie. I don’t like to do anything too over the top because I want to get to know them without freaking them out. However, I am down for kissing on the first date.”
Â
Favorite movie: “The Godfather. Not only is it awesome, but I also come from a huge Italian family.”
Â
Best concert ever seen: “Pretty Lights this summer in St. Louis or Dave Matthews Band.”
Â
Favorite place to shop: “Over half of my wardrobe consists of J.Crew and Ralph Lauren Polo. My style is very preppy/fratty. In high school, most people dressed this way, and my high school got made fun of. But it definitely prepared me for college life!”
Â
What’s your favorite Mizzou memory: “Homecoming last year. Winning the game, rushing the field and kissing the 50-yard line was unreal. Also when Osama Bin Laden was pronounced dead, the spirit in Greek Town was amazing. That’s something I’ll never forget.”
Â
Interesting fact: “Colin’s actually my middle name. My first name is Stephen. I’m called Colin because my parents wanted to keep the name Stephen in our family but at the same time give me an original name.”
Â
Favorite actress: Natalie Portman
Â
Hidden talents: “I can play the piano. I took 6 years of piano lessons, but now I just like to mess around and sometimes search how to play songs on YouTube.”
Â
Best childhood memory: “Being at the World Series game in 2006. The Cardinals won against the Tigers. They won the series in five games, and I was at the fourth game, which was really exciting.”
Â
Bucket list: “I really want to travel. I would first want to visit Italy because my family is from there, and it would be really interesting my family history in Rome and Venice. It would be awesome to see how other people live their lives, and I’m really interested in experiencing art and food from different cultural standpoints. I am thinking about possibly going to Brussels for the summer through a program where I could report for the European Union.”
Â
Favorite holiday: “Definitely Thanksgiving. I like to go against the grain. Everyone overlooks Thanksgiving and focuses on Christmas. I love to eat and cook, so this holiday is perfect.”
Â
Favorite dessert: “My aunt and uncle own a bakery on The Hill in St. Louis, and they make little chocolate drops with pound cake and chocolate icing. They’re so amazing that I could eat 10 right after they’re iced and baked.”
