The holidays are fast approaching, and if your relatives are anything like mine, they started asking you for gift ideas weeks ago. Truthfully, I’m never really sure what I want. However, last year I asked for Amazon and Barnes & Noble gift cards, and I was so glad that I had them when ordering my textbooks. In case you’re not sure what to ask for, I decided to put together a gift guide of items that I feel are really useful to have as a college student.

Amazon Gift Cards
Â
Â
I previously mentioned this, but they’re great to have whether you’re ordering textbooks, school supplies, cleaning products, groceries, or for really anything!

House Essentials:
Â
Poo-Pourri, A Lint Roller, and A Mini Vacuum
Â
Â
Â
Â
Now, these are some not as obvious choices. I know that these probably seem odd to ask for as presents, but for me, they’re items that I want but don’t want enough to purchase with my own money. The Poo-Pourri, lint roller, and mini vacuum are all simple items for the dorm that help keep you and your room/apartment in tip-top shape!

Life Essentials:
A New Planner
Â
Christmas is the perfect time to get a new planner with the new year coming up right around the corner! My current planner covers 2019; nevertheless, I think that it’s essential. There are so many cute planners out there, so browse online during your breaks in between studying for finals so you can have a specific planner picked out to request!
Â
A New Reusable Water Bottle
Â
Water bottles like S’well, Yeti or Hydro Flask are great to ask for because you know they’ll last for a while! These water bottles are also perfect to put on the side pouches of your backpack so you’ll always have water with you. You can also easily refill them at the water stations at school.
Â
A New Robe & Slippers
Â
Â
You can never go wrong with a new robe and slippers! Ugg slippers are cozy, durable, and perfect for walking around the dorm, or for just keeping your feet warm. Who doesn’t love a fuzzy robe?!
Â
Uber Gift Cards
Â
Â
Having a gift card to pay for your next Uber ride is a gift in itself, but you can also use it for Uber Eats which allows you to order food from a variety of places and have it delivered right to you! Rather than asking relatives for multiple gift cards to different restaurants, instead ask for Uber gift cards so you’ll have your rides and meals covered!

I hope that you found this article helpful with what to ask for! These are just a few ideas, but if you want to share some of your essentials, tweet us @HerCampusMMM!
