Prince William and Princess Kate had a pleasant trip to the United States, on the East Coast, to visit New York City. The regal married couple had a meeting with the President and attended an NBA basketball game at the Barclays Center during their quick trip. While they were in Brooklyn watching the NETS basketball game, they met music legends Beyoncé and Jay-Z. It was a special moment where British royalty and American royalty collide.
The nice getaway wasn’t all play and no work though. Princess, Kate Middleton, wrapped Christmas presents for charity in Harlem. Prince William joined Mayor Bill De Blasio at the Empire State Building. The pair also visited the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. While they were there, the Duchess put flowers and a handwritten note dedicated to the victims of 9/11 at one of the reflection pools. They visited leading youth organizations, watched performances and lunched with British creative in Gramercy.
The royal pair wed in Westminster Abbey in London in 2011. They had their first child, Prince George, in July 2013. Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, is pregnant with their second child which is due this spring.
While they were in the city, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the fundraiser for St. Andrews University Scholarships at the Metropolitan Museum of Art before they flew back home to London, England. The University of St. Andrews, is where the happy couple first met and fell in love.
The future King and Queen appeared to truly enjoy their time spent in New York City. They fit a wide variety of events into their schedule and accomplished a lot during their time here. It was both, the Prince and the Princess, first time in New York. They are sure to return back again to the Big Apple!
