If you are a Fall fanatic like me, one of your favorite things about Fall is Fall TV! Every year one of those most anticipated shows is American Horror Story, known for having a different theme each season. One reason in particular AHS was extremley anticipated this Fall was because the creators refused to reveal the theme of the show-Ā giving us random teasers trying to make people guess the theme. So of course like most of America I HAD to watch the first episode, it was a must. TypicallyĀ some people were instantly turned off and simply did not like it. I know some people were dissapointed and were expecting more.Ā Many complain about the format of the season (the show within the show/documentary format). Personally it does not bother me, I feel like it adds on to the overall creepiness of the show (which I simply LOVE)! So FINALLY, the wait was over and the theme was revealed, some hate it, some love it, and most are completley terrified by this season!
American Horror Story: Roanoke is different, but not different. It’s very different from the other seasons, especially the format, however it is also similar. Many feel it is too similar to the first season, Murder House. Other people (such as me) thrive on this and absolutley love it because season 1 was absolutelyĀ amazing. Even though the first two seasons of AHS were very dark and scary they weren’t quite like this. I’ve watched every season of AHS and never have I ever jumped or screamed while watching an episode. I’ve always loved how scary and creepy the show was, but it’s never made me jump out my seat!
Not only did the first episode leave me extremely confused, it left me shiveringĀ (both because I was scared but also because of anticipation)!Ā But it also left me extremely frustrated, I NEED to see more! I STILL need to see more even after the most recent episode! As usual AHS leaves you with some questions answered… but with even more questions! At the end of the first episode all I could wonder was why did it rain teeth? Who was that woman that Shelby hit? Why did I literally jump out of my seat when that happened? And WHY DID THE EARTH LOOK LIKE IT WAS MOVING!?!
Were any of those questions answered in the next episode? No, not really. We get more of an idea about what Kathy Bates’ character is, but we also really don’t. We learn about the strange nurses, but not what caused their fate. Of course all these new discoveries freaked me out, especially when Lee’s daughter was talking to the ghost (or at least that’s what I think it is), even though that’s a typical cliche. All the stange hallucinations just keep getting creepier and scarier and you can’t help but wonder why they just won’t leave the house even though they gave up all their money for it. Either way I hope they don’t because I LOVE this season so far and thrive on the scares and twists and turns. The video camera footage they discovered was probably the creepiest part of this episode and it left me shook! Never has a season of AHS made me feel so scared and so complete from that feeling of shaking in my seat. Personally I can’t wait to see what the rest of this season has in store! And like usual, we are left hanging at the end of another episode. What happened to Lee’s daughter? Guess we’ll find out next week! Until then I’m going to pretend like I’m not scared of the possibility of myĀ dorm being haunted! The key word is pretend.
