The spookiest time has arrived, yet it’s going to look a little different this year. Although there are limitations, you can still get into the spirit and celebrate. As the holiday is only a few short days away, solidify any potential plans you have and get ready!
With Halloween quickly approaching, it’s time to think about your Halloween playlist. What kind of music are you going to play? Party music? Crowd-pleasers?
No – you’re going to play Halloween-themed music, of course! With these 10 songs on your Halloween playlist, a mix of creepy and eerie tunes will perfect the night.
1. Thriller – Michael Jackson
Not only is the music video iconic, but the song is as well. Once this song starts playing, you know everyone is dancing and singing along.
2. A Nightmare on My Street – DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince
An underrated bop. I used to listen to this all the time during my drive to Monmouth last year. Will Smith and a Halloween hip-hop song? I think yes.
3. Ghostbusters – Ray Parker Jr.
Ugh, such a classic. It may be a bit cheesy, but it’s a track that has changed the game for Halloween playlists. If you don’t know this song, please listen to it ASAP. Please.
4. Hungry Like the Wolf – Duran Duran
Although it’s not directly a Halloween song, the spookiness is there. The title alone gives off an eerie vibe.
5. Stranger Things – Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein
In my opinion, this is one of the best television theme songs. Also, this is such a perfect song for a Halloween celebration – too good.
6. I Put a Spell On You – Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox’s voice puts such a haunting spin on this 1956 original. Out of all the covers of this song, Annie’s rendition reigns supreme.
7. Somebody’s Watching Me – Rockwell
The paranoid theme of this song is so relatable – anxiety rules! Anyways, this is a great song to associate Halloween with and it really gets you in the spirit.
8. Halloween Theme – John Carpenter
This song is my life. I love the Halloween franchise with my whole heart, even though Michael Myers scares me to no end. 42 years ago, John Carpenter published this masterpiece – you better add this to your Halloween playlist!
9. Monster Mash – Bobby “Boris” Pickett
Another classic Halloween hit. Hit the dance floor and do the Monster Ma- wait… did they ever actually tell us how to do the Monster Mash? Also, is this song actually THE Monster Mash or just a tribute to the ORIGINAL Monster Mash? Insane.
10. I Want Candy – Bow Wow Wow
The main reason I love this song so much is because when I was younger, my mom got this little ghost that, when you press him, starts to dance and this song starts playing. That ghost still comes out for Halloween to this day, and I still love it.
