If you haven’t already heard, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London has just opened the biggest Christian Dior exhibit since “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” in 2015. The exhibit called: Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, will showcase haute couture designs from 1947 and onward.
The exhibit will also share the story of Dior’s fascination with England and its culture. The country has become a place filled with inspiration for his designs. Dior himself has dressed the Royal British Family such as Princess Margaret, sister of Queen Elizabeth ll. One of the highlights of the exhibit will be a special dress that Princess Margaret wore for her 21st birthday.
I’m very excited for this exhibit because Dior is an iconic and timeless designer whose pieces are worn by the highest elite. From pictures recently published by Vogue, the layout of the venue holding Dior’s designs is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. The way every design is presented makes the venue feel very luxurious and classy. Attending this exhibit will help us fashion lovers, gain knowledge about Dior’s inspiration for his designs and craftsmanship while the fashion industry continues to evolves.
With 500 curated pieces, Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, is the #1 must-see fashion exhibit of the year. Visualizing the many iconic designs, he has created is sure to take your breath away. I’m already planning a trip to visit London for this once in a lifetime opportunity. If you have the opportunity to visit London during Spring break or over the Summer, I highly recommend that you check out this exhibit at the Victoria & Albert museum. Tickets were on sale starting in January, however, they sold out in just a month. Fortunately, if you’re eager to see more than one exhibit at the Victoria & Albert museum, you can register to become a member on their website. For £45 ($58) you will have yearly access to all exhibits shown at the museum. This is a great deal if you’re looking to see more than one exhibit, or just for Christian Dior’s Designer of Dreams.
