If you are anything like me, you are constantly listening to music. It is a powerful force that brings us all together. There is nothing like hearing two of your favorite artists come together and create a song that will stay on repeat. Let’s take a look at some collabs that haven’t happened yet but would be added to my playlist immediately.

  1. Noah Kahan and Niall Horan

Noah Kahan, a Grammy Best New Artist nominee, has been racking up collabs recently. The folk-pop singer has released songs with Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, Hozier and more. Kahan recently took to X to jokingly ask Horan to make music together.

Kahan does not shy away from being very vulnerable with his lyrics. Although the beats are catchy, many songs convey deep emotions that a lot of listeners can resonate with. Niall Horan’s music is mostly classified as pop but the former One Direction member does have elements of folk and country in his songs. I believe these two could create a folk-pop song with a beautiful beat and moving lyrics to match.

  1. Olivia Rodrigo and Tate McRae

Switching gears to two of our favorite pop princesses, both Rodrigo and McRae have seen huge success in the past few years. The singers, who are close friends, were recently spotted sitting courtside together at a Lakers game. McRae can be seen in Rodrigo’s “bad idea right?” music video along with other close friends Iris Apatow and Madison Hu.

Both pop stars are currently 20 years old, with their music touching on similar themes of heartbreak and coming of age. These two it-girls have the potential to make a chart-topping hit with the combination of their iconic pop sounds and vulnerable lyrics. They’d make a track everybody’s exes would fear.

  1. Lana Del Rey and Zach Bryan

Zach Bryan is a 27-year-old country singer who is no stranger to collaborating with female artists. His songs “I Remember Everything” featuring Kacey Musgraves and “Dawns” with Maggie Rogers tell emotional stories from the perspective of both singers. Bryan’s raspy voice pairs beautifully with a softer feminine voice which is why he and Lana Del Rey would make a perfect fit.

Lana Del Rey has explored many different genres in her discography. Recently, it seems that she will be entering her country era. The singer released a cover of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” in December 2023, adding her own melancholy and soft twist to the song. She also recently announced at the Billboard Songwriter Awards that her next album will be titled Lasso. What better way to launch into the genre than collaborating with Zach Bryan?

  1. Boygenius and Taylor Swift

Boygenius, an indie group, includes singers Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus. Like some artists mentioned previously, the group includes emotionally intense lyrics in their music. I believe their voices would pair beautifully with Taylor Swift’s to create a soft yet catchy ballad that would make a lot of us cry.

Taylor Swift, who is currently taking the world by storm, is already friends with one of the Boygenius members, Phoebe Bridgers. The two collaborated on Swift’s song “Nothing New (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” Bridgers also was the opening act for multiple stops of Swift’s The Era’s Tour. A sad anthem from these artists has the power to break the internet.

I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for the latest releases from each of these artists. Fingers crossed that we will have an Olivia Rodrigo x Tate McRae break-up anthem to belt in the car or a Taylor Swift x boygenius song to add to our playlists soon!
