Jeremy Scott sparks a controversy during his Fall/Winter 2019 fashion show on Friday, February 8 in New York City. Each look that made its debut down the runway was basically a variation of the same thing, black and white fabric with headlines from various publications like The New York Post and The Daily News amongst key phrases like “scandal,” “psycho” and “tragedy” plastered all over. Each look progressively became more gothic and grunge as the models maintained a lackadaisical walk down the runway.
In comparison to Scotts F/W ‘18 show, his current collection is rather bleak but it appears that was the goal in mind. Each garment is supremely constructed and brings something different to the table. The elements of surprise were not in the fabrics or color scheme but rather in the silhouettes, there were just as many pieces that hugged the bodice as there were pieces that hung loosely. All the models sported black and white hair with flamboyant bows, flashy berets or standard beanies.
Key features included: tulle, overalls, two piece sets, long gloves, poofy skirts and mini dresses.
