Hey ladies! Feeling sluggish, hoping to lose weight, in need of a boost of energy? One thing that I can say I have learned that helped me immensely during quarantine is detoxing. Now you may be asking yourself, “What the heck are you talking about Kyra, what is detox?” Detox is a body purification in simpler terms. Your body is swimming in toxins, it’s exposed to enormous amounts of toxins found in our medications, the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, and the environment we live in. By detoxifying, you are getting rid of the toxins in your body. Girl, I know what you must be thinking now, “Ugh no thanks I do not want to drink smoothies that smell like grass!” This may come as a surprise to you but I have found out that there are many more ways to detox your life other than drinking grass. Detox is the way to go!

Here are some ways that I learned on how to detox my life:

Detoxifying Through Water

What do I mean by this? Taking a simple bath; aka hydrotherapy, and jumping into the pool while you still can. Soaking in H20 hydrates as well as detoxifies your body of its toxins. Another way to detoxify through water is by simply just drinking water. To fancy up your water a bit you can infuse your water with fruits such as lemon, lime, orange, cucumbers and/or mint to your everyday water. By infusing your water not only would it taste better but it will add vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. These are some simple ways to detoxify using our bestie H20.

Detox With a Killer Workout

It’s time to sweat it out girl! With a little exercise, such as cycling, jogging, swimming or just walking you can detox by increasing the heart rate. By sweating you are releasing toxins through your sweat glands and also cleansing your skin and by breathing, you are releasing toxins in your lungs. Don’t forget to hydrate while exercising ladies!

Detox Your Environment

It’s cleaning time gals! Our environment, like our room, contains environmental toxins such as allergens, dust, mold and pesticides. To succeed in detoxing we need to detox our rooms as well as regularly changing our bed sheets, pillows, pillow covers, mattresses, drapes, and dusting furniture. Vacuuming regularly is another must; and don’t forget to change your air filters!

Detox With Beauty Sleep

Remember last semester, when you would pull an all-nighter to finish some paper you procrastinated on? You were hurting your body by not letting it naturally detox. A good eight-hour beauty sleep recharges your body which then lets your organs work in detoxifying itself. If you find yourself with less than eight hours of sleep, you’re depriving yourself of detoxing.

Detox With Meditation

You may have heard about meditating recently, it has become very popular especially during quarantine. Mediation is known to be one of the most shockingly powerful methods in detoxing your body. By sitting quietly and having a clear mind for at least ten minutes, it can clear so many stress toxins that have been built up in your body. An advantage of mediation is that you can start at any time, any place and no need for prior experience. It helps you control your stressors and not let them control you! Get to mediating ladies! Detox With Smoothies

Then there is the detox with smoothies! Have a detox smoothie for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner to detox your body. Use natural superfoods, in the smoothies to help you boost your energy and get rid of those toxins in your body at the same time.
