Every year on Thanksgiving, most people say they are thankful for the same few things; family, friends and health. While I am also incredibly grateful for those, I did not think it would be too fun for you to read about how much a stranger on the internet loves her family and friends. So instead, I decided to shine some light on the little things I am grateful for this Thanksgiving.Â
- Walt Disney World:
Yep…I am a proud Disney adult. I think what people don’t understand about Disney adults is that the reason Disney means so much to us is because of the memories we have made there. I grew up going to Walt Disney World with my entire family. The memories I have made with my cousins on rides are unmatched. I am truly my happiest when I am in the Disney parks and I am forever grateful for every experience I have had there.Â
- The Lyndhurst Pastry Shop:
My grandfather and his two brothers own an Italian bakery in my hometown where my family and I work in our free time. I specifically love spending holidays in the bakery because the place is packed with not only customers, but tons of my family members all working together. It never feels like work because I am usually always working with a relative.Â
- Braces:
Every day when I look in the mirror I am so grateful that I had braces in middle school. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having crooked teeth, I just personally did not like the way mine looked before. So thank you to my braces for fixing that up for me.Â
- Coffee:
There is truly nothing better than that first sip of coffee every morning. While I wish I did not rely on coffee as much as I do, I appreciate all it does for me. Not only is coffee delicious and caffeinated, but it also brings people together. One of my first dates with my boyfriend was to get coffee.Â
- Chapstick:
It is such a silly thing to be grateful for, but I am that girl that has at least three chapsticks in her bag at all times. I just hate the feeling of chapped lips, so I always need a lip moisturizer with me. I also love trying out new products and flavors of lip balm.Â
- YouTube:
Like most people of GenZ, I grew up with a bit of a YouTube obsession. To this day, I still watch YouTube about 90% of the time. From beauty gurus to daily vlogs, I love it all.Â
- Podcasts:
I know I’m late to the trend, but recently I have been loving podcasts. It could be about anything and I will listen for hours. I also love how they make time go by so much faster. From driving to school to walking to class, a podcast is always on.Â
- Candles:Â
Candles make me so happy, it is low-keylow key embarrassing. I just love picking a new scent and letting it fill my whole house. Candles are also so calming, especially wood wicks. I could listen to one crackle for hours.Â
- Musical Theater:Â
No one is surprised when they hear that I was a theater kid. While I don’t currently participate in musical theater, I am still a huge fan. No matter how many Broadway shows I have seen, I still get so excited. Musical theater also brings people together and builds strong bonds. Some of my lifelong friends I have met through shows I have done.Â
- Her Campus:
Ok, this seems cheesy, but I genuinely am so grateful for the platform I have as a contributing writer at Her Campus. Each month I get to write fun articles and express myself through my words.Â
I hope you enjoyed reading the little things that I am thankful for! Have a great holiday season!
