Ever since Musical.ly became TikTok, it’s become the most popular app amongst young people. Users create content such as career advice, lip-syncing, affirmations and much more. I myself have learned a lot. I think it’s important to share the advice I’ve learned because you never know who might need to hear it. I know there have been times I’ve felt down and it’s almost as if the “For You Page” Gods heard my thoughts and sent me the videos I needed to see. There’s so much more I learned on the app, but here’s my top five!

Mindsets:

I never knew much about mindsets before watching videos about them. This video in particular taught me about two and how they affect the perspective somebody would have on their relationship. Abundance and scarcity mindset affect the whole relationship because it’s how you perceive your partner and how you envision your role in the relationship. This really taught me something because I never looked at it like that. I highly suggest shifting your mindset if you feel like you’ve been feeling negative lately. It’ll really be a game-changer.

Affirmations:

I’ve always believed what you speak into the world will come back to you, but I’ve never applied that to affirmations. These would be phrases we speak into the universe that we want to come true or phrases we want ourselves to believe. I only became aware of these affirmations not too long ago along with saying them out loud. They immediately made a difference in my life. The affirmation that I did was “I do not chase, I attract, what belongs to me will simply find me” and it’s true! The true people in my life started to appear! I think affirmations are really great, there are so many to do and they are easy to find.

Manifestations:

Similar to affirmations, manifestations are something I already believed in but never applied and did it too often. TikTok taught me a lot more about it than I knew before. I recently found out about applying dates to my manifestations, and it works! You really have to believe in yourself and the manifestation, though. I put in a goal weight and gave myself a date to reach that by. I placed this manifestation into the universe and it came true! TikTok taught me all about manifestations and confirmed that all I truly needed was the belief in myself that I can make these things happen if I apply myself.

Body Positivity:

TikTok is a place for creators to make content for people like them, and that’s exactly what I was looking for! I love seeing women supporting women, and especially when I see somebody who looks similar to myself, it makes me feel good. I love seeing body positivity and the beautiful queens on the app showing off their styles and how to dress for their specific body types. It makes me feel empowered to be a woman in 2021!

Hair Tutorials:

I’m always interested in doing different things with my hair. TikTok taught me all the different styles possible! The reason TikTok taught me and not Pinterest or Instagram is that many creators on the app truly dedicate their time to teach you how to do each style and how to apply the style to a specific hair type. I enjoy seeing the variety of styles I can do with my hair rather than the simple things I typically do.
