If the Devil Wears Prada, then I must be Lucifer because ever since receiving my first sample, Prada’s new scent, Paradoxe, has had me in a chokehold. I have never been a designer perfume girl because they have always been so strong, but there is just something about this scent that has made it my daily choice.

Courtesy of the pink packaging in their signature font, this fragrance combines “the powerful lift of a delicate jasmine flower, the enveloping warmth of a naturally derived ambrofix intensified by a subtle yet instantly recognizable moss accord.” All that being said, it smells incredible. Typically, I steer away from flower-based fragrances because of my allergies, but because of the warmth mixed in due to the amber vibes given off that complement the fragrance just right, it is not overpowering.

My next note is how long it lasts. I can spray it twice at 9 a.m. before my classes, and it will last all day without wavering. I sweat very easily and have a difficult time finding perfumes that can last me throughout a busy day, but this has impressed me. I have also gotten a ton of compliments on the scent from friends and my partner, on how it smells and even the fact that it lasts as long as it does.

I genuinely cannot find something I personally do not like about this perfume, and I 10/10 recommend it to anyone who has the same internal struggle with flowery fragrances that I do. I will definitely be making a purchase of a full-sized bottle at some point in the future, but for now, thanks to the awesome partnership they did with Michigan State’s Her Campus chapter, I get to continue to love the scent and test it out.
