Celeste Rubino
Major: History
Minors: Asian Studies, Religious Studies, and Classical & Ancient Mediterranean Studies.
Hometown: East Lansing, MI
Graduation Year: 2022 or 2023
Celeste, what got you interested in History?
It’s a bad reason, I don’t recommend choosing a major this way, but I chose my major based on what classes I liked in high school. I didn’t understand math, science confused me, and I didn’t have that knack for the arts that others seemed to have. By default, I chose social science … history.
Why did you join Her Campus MSU?
I joined because I wanted to become a more fluid writer. A slow writer filled with ideas but also tons of writer block is something I once was and still am.
What has been your favorite part of being involved at HCMSU?
I want to say meeting new people, but I haven’t really met that many except for members I already knew, gracious executive staff that I have troubled on more than one occasion, and the Spring 2022 interns.
I like that even if no one reads my material, many of my articles are consciously irrelevant a few weeks after publication, I still get to feel like I have a voice that can yell out what events interest me.
What other extracurricular activities are you involved in?
I am the Treasurer of the MSU Art History Association, @michiganstateaha on Instagram.
I am the RHA representative for Women’s Council and, vice versa, I am the WoCo representative for the MSU Residence Hall Association.
What hobbies do you enjoy outside of school?
Reading manga/graphic novels, watching YouTube, listening to K-Pop, etc.
Where is your favorite place to get food or hangout in East Lansing?
Eastwood Mall.
What are your post-college plans?
Really unknown, a true pressure of my life.
Finally, where can people find you?
