Michigan happens to be the state of inevitable weather changes and has the capability to go through all four seasons in just a matter of a day. This past week, there hasn’t been much to complain about with the beautiful weather we’ve been so fortunately graced with in East Lansing. For once, I wouldn’t mind if the walk to class took a little longer just to enjoy the sun’s warming rays. So of course it’s only fitting that the perfect playlist accompanies you on your cloudless walk to class or the perfect drive with those windows down!
Â
I’ve compiled a playlist of a variety of different songs for your listening pleasure; some old, some new. Feel good songs that will give you a little extra pep in your step or have you singing along. And if you’re more into that car ride, sit back and hit cruise control, windows rolled down, music blasting, and just enjoy the ride!
Â
We begin with a mix of bona fide 90’s classics and old favorites that will leave you reminiscing and are sure to provide some feelings of nostalgia. Nonetheless, these songs never fail to put a smile on my face, especially during a warm day. The next track, the artist Jimmy Eat World fits into the 90’s era, but this new song off their just recently released album offers up some positive vibes. Next, I threw a country song into the mix that I just can’t stop listening to – sit back and unwind to a little bit of Luke Bryan. After, relax with some Slightly Stoopid, a band that makes it feel like summer all year round! The next few tracks are a mix of happy, upbeat indie and alternative – most of the songs taken from the band’s most recent albums. Next, for those into a little bit of rap and hip-hop, take a listen to the remix of Chiddy Bang’s “Kids”. Lastly, ending strong with a song that makes it hard not to feel empowered while listening to the lyrics of O.A.R’s “Taking on the World Today,” off their newest album, King. So go out with 15 new tracks in mind, embrace the sun on your skin and enjoy the day!
