Spring has arrived, which means that spring cleaning is also here. Spring cleaning is an important way to reset and get rid of junk you no longer need.Â
Since Covid, so many of us have moved our work office to our homes. The work office is a place we spend most of our time during the week, which means it definitely needs to be cleaned every once in a while. In this article, I will be giving you some tips on how to clean your home office this spring.Â
Plan A Day And Commit To It
Before getting started, picking a day to clean is the first step. I recommend committing to either a full day or a couple hours to clean out your whole home office from head to toe without any distractions.Â
Declutter Everything
When the day finally comes, I recommend going through every paper, folder, container, etc. Take everything out and throw away anything that is old or no longer needed. Divide the stuff you want to keep into two containers, one to keep in your home office and one to put away somewhere else.Â
Dust, Wipe Everything Down, And Vacuum
After taking everything out of your home office and dividing it into piles, get your cleaning supplies. Go through every container and drawer and wipe everything out. Remember to dust any ceiling lights, fans, windows, and surfaces. After wiping everything down and dusting, then vacuum. This will give you a clean slate before putting all of your things back.
Make A List Of What You Need
Next, go through all of the things that need to go back into your office and make a list of what you need. I would recommend getting some containers to organize any papers, pencils, paper clips, etc. Besides all of the basic things, write down any cute decorations to help spice up your home office. Flowers or plants, even if they are fake, add nice color to your desk.Â
OrganizeÂ
Lastly, use your new containers to put everything back. Organize your desk drawers, file cabinets, and your desk. Then add any decorations or pictures, and you’re done!Â
I hope this article gives you some guidance for cleaning your home office this year. I know it might be a long process, but it will be worth it in the end.
