Valentine’s Day is typically known for celebrating people who are in relationships, but love comes in many forms beyond romantic love. Here are a few things you can do to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your friends and family!
- Write Them a Letter of Appreciation
-
Words can go a long way sometimes. Write a note to someone who needs some encouragement or to someone who deserves to hear how much they’re appreciated! Bonus points if you include chocolate.
- Do an Act of Kindness for Them
-
Given that we’re in a pandemic, things are pretty overwhelming. Do a task that your loved one has been putting off or something that they haven’t been able to get to. They will definitely appreciate some help!
- Have a Movie Night – Junk Food Included
-
Sometimes, quality time is the best way to go. Watch a movie that you’ll all love, whether that means celebrating in person (safely!) or over Zoom! Pick up or even make some snacks that you’ll all love too.
- Buy Them Their Favorite Treat
-
If your loved one loves coffee, treat them to coffee! If you’re far apart, send them an e-gift card to Starbucks! If they don’t love coffee, get them their favorite treat or even something they love that they don’t get to have very often. My friends are big advocates of using Venmo to brighten up my day.
- Make Them a Playlist that Reminds You of Them
-
Playlists are fun ways to show love and appreciation for someone you love. Whether it’s on Apple Music or Spotify, the possibilities are endless! Music is a great way to connect with your loved ones.
