1. Modern Family

A light-hearted comedy about the three modern families that are interlinked. A young family with three children, a gay couple with an adopted child, and an older man with a younger divorced woman. I would suggest this because you can watch one episode more than once, and there will still be hysterical surprises waiting for you!

2. Lost

This twisted drama  based on Lord of the Flies flings you off a plane and onto a mystical island that reveals the most unexplained phenomenon of the universe. I have binge watched Lost more than once, and I can tell you, I can still laugh and cry just has hard the second time around. Lost is truly a cinematic masterpiece, and you just need to watch it because you will be hooked.

3. How I Met Your Mother

A TV show you can pick up after a week of not watching it, though that’s not really binge watching, and you will still feel the same strength of connection between these friends. If you like shows that take place in New York City about young friends and their extravagant and ridiculous adventures, this comedy is for you! Warning: the ending is the worst ending in TV history, in my opinion, and I’m still angry, but the rest of the show is good. Just don’t watch the last episode because you’re going to hate me.

4. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

You should watch this hysterical show because my sister works on it, and it’s just incredible. The show will make you laugh your socks off at every dumb reference or joke they make. You won’t stop singing Pinot Noir for weeks. A cute, yet (if you think about it) very dark show, about a mole woman who is thrown into life in the bustling New York City after 15 years in a bunker. I recommend it to binge watch it because it’s adorable and silly with, actually, pretty good morals!

5. Friends

Damn. This show gets me right in the feels. It’s truly beautiful, moving, and hysterical all at once. There is not a time in the show where I can say that I didn’t like it. This group of chic ‘90s friends certainly had their ups and downs through their journey, but everyone has a happy ending in a beautiful, profound way. It is sad, yes, but it ends on a note of happiness. (Trying not to give too much away here).

6. Gilmore Girls

This show I grew frustrated with but was worth watching in the end. I would suggest watching it, though, because it is about how two women, a mom and a daughter, grow up. The mother, a young mom, grows up to learn more about herself while raising her young daughter, Rory. The two characters have a close relationship unlike any other that is refreshing, and sometimes alarming.

7. Fargo

This thriller TV show has new plots for each TV show, much like the coveted American Horror Story (also a great binge if you can handle it). While I have yet to see the second season, I have to say, the first season had twists and turns, it was thrilling, horrific, and chilling. I would certainly say binge watch this TV show in the winter curled up near a fire with some hot tea, because you’re going to need to warm yourself up after the coldness of a Minnesota killer.

8. Psych

This light-hearted crime show is tied for my favorite TV show. If there was a funding page to revive the show, I would, in a heartbeat, donate. This show was my early teens show where I latched onto the first bit of dry humour I could get. With a regular guy who pretends to be a psychic, and his side-kick, who most of the time is 100% fed up with him, these two get up to ridiculous shenanigans that will make you giggle until your face turns red.

9. Sherlock

This show will have you screaming into the void all the time. It will have you question your existence, your loyalties. It will make you twisted and it will do things to you, mentally, no TV show has. Although it’s only a mini-series, Sherlock has unlocked the hearts of millions of Americans and Britons alike, and we just can’t get enough. This TV show, based off of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s series of great Sherlock novels, is transplanted from 1800s to modern-day London.

10. The West Wing

Not only does The West Wing give you a fairly accurate depiction on what it’s like to work in the White House, but it also has a well-written plot with deep and structured characters with long backgrounds. You not only get attached personally to each character, but you become enthralled in the politics. It is shocking that the politics from the ‘90s, when The West Wing takes place, is strikingly similar to the politics today. I would binge watch the show just for it’s extremely well-crafted script and plot, and character developments.

11. Bonus: The Good Wife

By my boyfriend’s request, he said people should certainly watch The Good Wife. Although I’ve never seen it, he says, “Just watch it” and that should be enough.
