One of my favorite things to do with friends is listen to music. Whether it’s singing karaoke or just loudly butchering Top 40 hits and Broadway tunes, music is a great way to let people know how you feel about them. With this in mind, one of my Christmas presents to my best friends were playlists, curated especially for them. Of course, it’s a little difficult to find songs that are about friendship and aren’t super depressing, especially if you don’t wanna repeat songs on people’s playlists, so I’m here to help! Here are my top 6 favorite friend or friend-adjacent songs.

“Have It All” – Jason Mraz
Favorite lyrics:
Well, here’s to the hearts that you gonna break
Here’s to the lives that you gonna change
Here’s to the infinite possible ways to love you

Here’s to the good times we gonna have
You don’t need money, you’ve got free pass
Here’s to the fact that I’ll be sad without you
I want you to have it all
2. “Anytime You Need A Friend” – Mariah Carey
Favorite lyrics:
Anytime you need a friend
I will be here
You’ll never be alone again

So don’t you ever be lonely
Love will make it alright
3. “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” – Randy Newman

4. “Stand By You” – Rachel Platten
