When did you start riding? I really liked horses but I didn’t start taking lessons until I was 6, when I asked my Mom. She was waiting for me to ask her because she didn’t want to push it. I didn’t know she’d waited until I asked! Then I started riding at the Yale Polo Center.

Do you prefer hunt seat/dressage or western? I love hunt seat but I like to ride Western sometimes. I’ve been trained to ride hunt seat so I like it more. I really don’t know what I’m doing when I ride Western but it’s also a lot of fun.

What is your best memory of riding? There are so many! My favorite college memory is when I was chosen to ride in the Zone Championship and Nationals during my first year. It was the epitome of awesome. It set the tone for college like wow, I can really do this!! My second memory is was winning my class at Vermont Summer Festival on my horse. He’s like my baby and I was so proud because he was really good. I mean, I rode well but he was perfect. It was a huge A show and I was so proud of him.

Who are your favorite horses (in school, your own, etc.)? All of them!! They’re all so perfect! I have favorites for specific situations. Probably Karat because he was awesome. He was really mean but when you rode him, he was ideal. He was also my grooming horse.

When I’m not riding or studying I… am sleeping! But when I have time, I ride horses and hang out with friends. We ride ponies together!
