Favorite Affordable Makeup Products For College Students

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mt Holyoke chapter.

Any beauty-obsessed college student will tell you that makeup can be a huge drain on already dangerously low funds. Never fear! Luckily there are some great makeup products out there that work just as well as your Sephora favorites, but for a fraction of the cost. Check out some college student favorites:

1. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – $6.29

I absolutely swear by this mascara because it does it all. Length, volume, and curl are all covered by a flick of the wand.

2. Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara – $6.99 (Featured in our Survival Kits)

If you prefer a more natural look, this mascara is great! It goes on clump-free and provides nice color and volume.

3. Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner – $2.29

This eyeliner glides on so easily and is super pigmented. It’s ideal for lining your top or bottom lash line to give your eye makeup a more intense look.

4. Wet ‘n’ Wild Coloricon Eyeliner – $4.00

This eyeliner is super inepensive coming in at around $1. Luckily, these are still as pigmented as any higher end eyeliner pencil.

5. Maybelline Line Stiletto Eyeliner – $5.29

This eyeliner is amazing not only for its great pigmentation, but also because the applicator makes it super easy to apply! If you still can’t seem to make your eyeliner match on both eyes this might do the trick!

6. Wet ‘n’ Wild Coloricon Eyebrow Pencil – $1.99

This eyebrow pencil is perfect because not only does it have great color, but it also comes with a built in eyebrow brush so that you can groom your brows. Plus, it’s a small size so you can take it on the go. Those instagram brows are finally within your grasp!

7. Wet ‘n’ Wild Eyeshadow – $10

For their inexpensive price tag, these eyeshadow singles and palettes have an incredible amount of product and great pigmentation. Get them in super natural colors for an everyday look or pick up a more daring color to switch things up a bit.

8. Maybelline 24 hour Color Tattoo Metal Cream Eyeshadow – $6.99

These eyeshadow pods have a great creamy texture that glides on smoothly and stays put for hours! They have a nice metallic finish that really let your eyes pop. I like to use these as eyeshadow primer under other colors or just on their own for a simpler look.

9. Covergirl Smoothers BB Cream – $7.99

BB creams are great because they are much lighter than a traditional foundation but can still provide plenty of coverage. This one is great or giving your skin a quick pick-me-up.

10. Maybelline Dream Lumi Touche Highlighting Concealer – $7.99

This concealer is great for under the eyes because it covers dark circles and redness while simultaneously brightening up the skin. Since its a lighter formula, it stays smooth all day and doesn’t cake up.

11. ELF Contour Kit – $6

This is a great option if you’re looking for an inexpensive contour palette that comes with several different shades.

12. Rimmel Natural Bronzer – $4.99 (Featured in our Survival Kits)

This bronzer can be used to give you that I-just-vacationed-in-Florida glow even if you’ve been inside binge watching Netflix for the past month. Or channel your inner Kardashian and use it to contour. Either way, this product has great color, glides on smoothly, and blends like a dream.

13. Rimmel Provocalips lip color – $6.99 (Featured in our Survival Kits)

Get some popping lips with this two step lip color. First apply the color and then lock it in with some shine, so that it stays all day!
