Since Covid hit, people (myself included) have been stuck at home for the past year binge watching TV shows as a way to take a break from doing work. Over quarantine, my friends asked me what TV show recommendations I had for them. In this article, I will share with you some of my favorite TV shows of all time.Â
1. How I Met Your MotherÂ
I stumbled upon this show many years ago when I finished Friends and wanted to find a similar sitcom. The show follows the main character Ted as he tells his two kids the story of how he met their mother. I know what you’re thinking; a guy telling his kids about how they met their mother seems like a short show. However, they stretched this out to nine seasons and you see the little moments that lead to Ted meeting the mother.Â
2. Schitt’s CreekÂ
I watched this show during quarantine this year and it was such a treat. Schitt’s Creek follows the story of the Rose family and how they lose all their money and have to move to the small town of Schitt’s Creek. Throughout the 6 seasons, you see the characters who once lived very lavish lives develop into independent, grateful, and hardworking people. You will laugh and cry, and your heart will be filled with joy.
3. SmashÂ
If you are interested in a musical TV show, this is one you will love. Smash follows a group of Broadway writers, directors, and producers as they put on a new musical Bombshell which tells the story of Marilyn Monroe. Not only does this show star Broadway and Hollywood legends like Katherine McPhee, Megan Hilty, Christian Borle, Debra Messing, and Jeremy Jordan, but it gives you a look at how a show gets on Broadway.Â
4. ReignÂ
If you are looking for a regal show, Reign is perfect for you. This period drama follows the story of Mary Queen of Scots and her first marriage to King Francis of France. This show has everything: mystery, romance, battles, balls, and more. A good show to binge watch.Â
5. PoseÂ
This show follows Blanca, a transgender female, who starts her own house to compete in the balls during the 1980s in NYC. She faces countless obstacles including getting diagnosed with HIV. This show is a visual masterpiece and you will fall in love with all of the characters. Plus, within the cast there is a lot of LGBTQ+ representation.Â
6. Nailed It!
If you are into cooking shows but aren’t into the harsh judgment of chefs like Gordon Ramsay, you will like this show. Nailed It! is a baking competition show for amateur bakers. Each week the bakers have to recreate beautiful desserts and sometimes they do not turn out well. It’s funny and wholesome at the same time.Â
7. Big Little Lies
This series follows the story of a group of moms in Monterey Bay, California who deal with husbands, kids in 1st grade, and crime. The cast of this series is legendary with Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz, and Meryl Streep. This is a series that has a good soundtrack and will keep you on the edge of your seat.Â

I hope you like these TV show recommendations!Â
