When my friends invited me to join them at the Boro Art Crawl last night, I had no clue what to expect. I had never been to the Boro Art Crawl, let alone any art crawl. But I said yes, because what else was I gonna do on Friday night?
The Boro Art Crawl is an event where local artists can display and sell their art in different stores downtown at the Murfreesboro Square. Thereā€™s musicians, food, and an abundance of different types of incredible art – paintings on canvas, paper, even kitchen wares like cutting boards. Some artists were working on their pieces at the Crawl, and it was incredible to watch the art change and grow right in front of me.
The artists got to display their art by submitting their work on the Boro Art Crawl website during submission periods in the month prior to the event. Anyone can submit their art.
I personally loved the event. Iā€™m not much of an art person, but I have a certain appreciation for the patience and dedication it takes to turn lines and colors into beautiful works of art. The food was good, the music great, and the art absolutely fantastic – the whole event was a great opportunity to see the talent and meet the people of in and around Murfreesboro.
The event itself is free and happens on the second Friday of every other month, and if you get the chance to go, do it. I had an incredible time and canā€™t wait for the next one.
