How To Deal With Unrealistic Body Standards
There are examples of unrealistic body standards everywhere! From magazines to Instagram, people are photoshopping their images and defining themselves as perfection. Here are five ways you can remind yourself that you are beautiful.Â
1. Understand that what looks like perfection is not.Â
Whether someone photoshopped their images or not, there is no such thing as perfection! Say it with me girls, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS PERFECTION! Perfection is     not a bra or jean size, perfection is something only you can define.Â
2. Know that you are amazing just the way you are.
As our lord and savior Bruno Mars once said, “Girl you’re amazing just the way you are.” Do not try to change yourself to conform to somebody else’s standard of beauty.    Look at yourself and realize that you are perfectly unique and you are beautifully you.Â
3. Know your worth!Â
If someone tries to tell you to lose or gain weight, know that you do not need to! You are worth it at a size 2 or a size 12. Never change because someone wants you to. If      you do change, change for you and for you alone.Â
4. Follow people who keep it real.Â
We all know that social media is a very toxic place, so follow people who keep it real! Always remember that everybody’s bodies are different and unique!Â
5. Marvel at what your body can do for you.Â
Your body is not for appearances, it is what keeps you alive. Think about everything that your body does for you. When you go for a walk, thank your legs for keeping you     going. Realize that your lungs allow you to breathe and your eyes allow you to see all the beautiful things that the world has to offer. Your body is your temple, not anyone    elses.Â
