When you are young it can be so easy to fall head over heels for someone. You see him every day, he’s met your parents, you’ve even planned your future wedding on your Pinterest board. But how do you know he is really the one? There are so many signs that he could be Mr. Right for you and once you have found him, do not let him go!

One of the most important qualities of Mr. Right is that he inspires you to be your best self. He should boost your self esteem and make you feel like you are a queen. My boyfriend always makes me feel better about myself, even on my worst days. Every day, he reminds me how beautiful I am and that I encourage him to be a better person as well. I see how hard he works and it inspires me to work even harder, in school and at my job. Without him, I would not be striving as much as I am. My grades and self confidence have risen because of all of the support I gain from him. Mr. Right should build you up, not break you down.Â

Another quality of Mr. Right is acceptance. He should accept you 100% as you are. You should never feel like you have to change for a man. Acceptance from a significant other goes far beyond physical appearance – it deals with your past, your mental health and so much more. You should be able to talk to your significant other about your past because it explains why you are the way you are. If you are worried about judgment, then that is not a good sign. He should be accepting of whatever has happened and appreciate that you told him. My boyfriend and I are still learning about each other, but I have never struggled with telling him anything because I know he won’t judge me. I suffer from depression and anxiety and my boyfriend deals with it very well. Whenever I am having a bad mental health day or overreact about something, he never blames it on me or says that I’m crazy. We are always able to sit and talk about why I feel that way and why I am overthinking the situation. Neither of us does anything wrong in these cases; I just need a lot of reassurance and he is always there to give it to me.Â

Your family’s opinion is extremely important so Mr. Right should love your family. Your significant other has to get along with your family because they will both be in your life forever. A successful relationship can not remain successful if your boyfriend and parents do not like each other. Have you ever had a relationship that your parents disagreed with? Imagine having to deal with that for the rest of your life. Whenever you go home, invite your boyfriend so they can get to know each other better. They should be friends on Facebook and he should be comfortable communicating with them when you are not around. He should feel as if your family is his family too.Â

Everyone knows that communication is one of the major keys in a relationship so Mr. Right should have no problem talking with you when there is a problem. If you have an argument he should be able to tell you what the problem is and you guys can find a way to resolve it. You do not want to be with someone who will hold in all of this anger and suddenly explode, when it could have already been resolved. He should be able to communicate his plans with you, short term and long term. If your boyfriend plans on moving after he graduates, but never tells you and you have different plans, then it obviously will not work out. So many couples do not work out because there is no proper communication between the two of them.Â
There are so many signs that he could be the one for you. Just being happy is not reason enough for him to be Mr. Right. This man has to be fully committed to you and everything you bring to the relationship. He should bring out the best in you and accept you for all of your flaws and your past. Remember that these signs are a two-way street; you should be doing everything you expect from him. Who knows, you could be with your Mr.Right right now or he could be just around the corner.Â
