One of the worst feelings ever is starting the semester and realizing that you’ve signed up for too many things. You could drop an organization or activity, but that wouldn’t necessarily solve everything. It’s all of the classes, clubs and jobs combined. You barely have time to get all your homework done, much less eat or sleep. Here are a few tips on how to survive a super busy semester.Â
1. Meal prep
On Sunday, plan out what you’re going to cook for dinner each day of the week and head to the grocery store. Fix those meals ahead of time and store them in the fridge. This way you won’t have to worry about running to the store or looking up a recipe on your crazy busy nights during the week.
2. Carry a water bottle with you
You can refill the water bottle as much as you need, and you won’t get dehydrated. This is easier, healthier, and cheaper than buying flavored drinks or soda.
3. Bring snacks
Some days might be too busy to stop for lunch. Just to be prepared, it’s a good idea to have snacks on hand. You never know when you’ll get hungry.
4. Schedule fast workouts
Â
This could be as simple as doing a few push-ups while working on homework or pausing to do some stretches in between classes. Taking that short mental break and getting active will help fight stress.Â
5. Take real breaks
When you walk away from your homework, stop thinking about it. You’ll feel ten times more refreshed if you aren’t mentally going over all of the things that you have to get done.
6. Take advantage of small breaks
When you’re driving to classes or work, let yourself relax. Think about the fun things you’ve got planned for the weekend or crank up your favorite song. It’s like a mini-break built into your day.Â
7. Find joy in what you do
You signed up for these specific classes, jobs, and clubs for a reason. Remember that reason and make your time enjoyable. Life is too short to be stressed!
