Here we are in Fall already. Just as quickly as the seasons changed so have those seasonal trends. Every year we get ready to pull out our sweaters, heavy coats, and boots, but this year let’s spice up those classic pieces and add a little flare. Let us not be simple, but instead deliver a lewk as this weather delivers gusty winds and chilly days. This season is all about taking those classic and traditional pieces and adding all the flare that you can handle. Now, why donât we get into a few of the trends and wardrobe must haves to be your best dressed for this fall and winter.
Â
1- FURRRÂ Â
Fur coats are in every fall or winter, this is not new. But, it is perfectly okay to switch it up a little with more than a coat. Iâm talking fur scarves, fanny packs, fur sleeves on your sweaters and sweatshirts, even a little fur on your head, or better yet your earphones. Also, let’s steer towards bold furs too. Start by trying new colors, color combos, patterns, and all that jazz. Donât be afraid of being âextraâ. Make a statement and be bold in it.
2- Just a Little T-Shirt
Another old time classic piece that you can spice up is a cute tee of course. This too can showcase your individual style with a patch of pattern or fuzziness, tassels, fringe, sequins and more. Sometimes you just get tired of trying to pair together all of your fancy pieces so a simple T-shirt with a touch of you will get the job done just fine.
3- Fancy Smancy Sweaters
Sweaters too are an old faithful for the cooler weather. But, letâs spunk it up a bit. This season add feathers, jewels, textures, fringe, prints, and everything else in between to your sweaters. Not only sweaters, but sweatshirts too. It’s the perfect touch for a simple sweater and jeans day that will still showcase your individual style. Let’s make the traditional a little more untraditional.
4- Hot Mama!
Who said you had to be a mom to rock a good pair of mom jeans? We all know old trends always come back in style and this season itâs the Mom jeans who has decided to make a reappearance in urban and contemporary fashion. Mama Mia! We could not be any more happy that this waist accentuating and booty hugging jean cut has made its way back onto shopping racks.
5- Embellish a little
When I say embellish a little, of course I donât mean lie. What I mean is pick up those jeans you saw that were embellished with pearls, had a flower embroidered on the pocket, or whatever other funky detailed jeans that looked not so traditional. Thereâs always room to be different even with the same ole everyday clothing articles, so why not? Those sewn on pearls and crystals will be all your look-of-the-day needs to stand out just that much more.
Â
6- Legs Stripe It
Surely, youâve caught sight of the racer stripe elongating the pants legs of women everywhere and I am here to let you know LEGS DO IT. This trend started with the sporty look but we are also making it a little more dressy this season. The stripe is there to keep it causal yes, but itâs also there to add a pop and touch of edginess to your standard ankle pants, joggers, jeans, flowy trousers, and more. Go ahead, tap into your inner daredevil, and add that stripe to your wardrobe.
7- Flare it up
Flare legs and bell bottoms are no longer a thing of the past, people. Just like mom jeans, this style of jeans has re-emerged from the back of our mothersâ closets, and now we too can enjoy them ourselves. This pants style is perfect for a sleek look that could use just a little flare and a great boot would be the perfect complement.
8- Cover up dahling
As discussed before, fur coats are always in. Even more of a reason for you to not be afraid to steer towards more bold colors or patterns. Also, bubble coats may be a thing of the 90s and early 2000s, but weâve already discussed how trends love to repeat themselves just like history. We also will always love a parka so letâs add colored fur to the hood for the extra touch of streetwear and edge. For those days when itâs not so cool and chilly out, feel free to reach for an oversized boyfriend denim or corduroy jacket! Or even a trench draped in unique jewels, fabrics, and patterns.
9- Accessorized Booties
Who doesn’t love a good pair of booties? Who doesn’t love a cute little hardware addition to spunk things up? A zipper may sound like a simple detail but we all know it’s the simple things that matter. By adding that zipper to the boot in an uncommon place it makes the boot unique and stand out. Studs, spikes, jewels, pearls, and other accents of the likes are also greatly appreciated when it comes to flaring up an already adorably made bootie or boot.
10- More Bold Footwerk!
If weâre feeling a little bit more fancy than usual, then of course boots and chunky heels in general deserve to walk in boldness as well. Prints and textures like snake skin or patent leather and even bold colors will be what makes your foot action be worth more than walking all over that boy that did you wrong. Red, blue, shiny, two toned, triple-toned, green- nothing is off limits when you go shoe shopping this year.
11- SNEAKY
Letâs be honest, not everyone wants to wear boots and heels all season. So, of course we have to have our sneaker collection up to par for when we want a tad more comfort in our lives. First, letâs break the idea that sneakers belong with casual outfits and casual outfits only. There are a plethora of sneakers that are meant to accessorize and enhance your outfits embellished in jewels, different fabrics, and all kinds of structural designs that will easily make them the statement piece to your already made âfit. Donât think you only have to search Foot Locker and PUMA for cute and comfy sneakers.
This season is all about embracing your inner bold. Being just a little traditional in how you stay warm and classic but also being every bit of a bold bad ass is what will allow your style to speak before you do. Don’t hesitate to try something new, something extra, or something that has had you contemplating the splurge. Fashion and style is all that you make it to be, so go ahead be daring.
