Today,
Today, I want you to hold me close.
Hold me close,
Until I feel safe again,
I miss that feeling.
Sometimes, at night, I fall asleep to the thought of that,
You holding me, close.
In your arms,
So warm,
So familiar,
I feel safe.
This is what love feels like,
I tell myself as my lips uncontrollably start to stretch,
Smiling from ear to ear.
But,
Tomorrow,
Tomorrow, It’ll be different.
I’ll tell myself that I’m fine.
I can do this without you,
And that I’ll be happy,
And I will be.
But today is today,
And home is where the heart is.
