The internets latest hyper fixation has been the show Daisy Jones and The Six. This show is a book adaption starring the book adaption king, Sam Claflin, and Riley Keough, who play the star crossed lovers in a rock band in the 70s. The rest of the cast is also filled with gen z favorites such as Suki Waterhouse and Camilla Morrone. While this is a perfect display of enemies to lovers and one of the best (in my opinion) albums of the year so far, this show is also packed with amazing clothes.
The resurgence of 70s fashion is no new thing, but I think that this show might really put it over the edge. Each character has their own aesthetic that they are uniquely dressed to fit. This show has truly been able to nail both the female and male styles of the 70s. Here are some style analysis’s of the leading ladies from Daisy Jones and The Six.
Daisy jones
Our current rock ‘n’ roll queen has multiple outfits throughout the series that makes you think of one thing; Stevie Nicks. While it is know the book/show was based (loosely) off of Fleetwood Mac, we can see it in full force through Daisy’s outfits. When seen in causal outfits, Daisy is usually shown in blousy shawls or her signature fur edged jacket.
Karen sirko
Karens style can described as more dark New York style compared to Daisy’s hippie LA gear. We can tell, as the show goes on, that Karens character is more of a grunge 70s approach. Even though Karens character is meant to blend in with the background compared to Daisy’s loud fashion statements, but the audiences eyes are still drawn to her. She is everybody’s rockstar girlfriend chic inpso.
camilla dunne
Camilla’s style throughout the show is almost a foil to Daisy’s. This choice was very deliberate as these women are meant to be exact opposites of each other. Her style takes more of a mature role as in the series she is forced to mature at a faster rate compared to the rest of characters. Either way her styling was spot on, her costumes were able to capture the fact that she is a mother, but still young.
