It can be hard to get into the practice of working out and exercising your body. It can sometimes feel miserable and like a chore, but there are some tips and tricks that can help you fall in love with working out.
- Make a workout playlist
For me personally, music is everything to me when I workout. I usually need to listen to songs that get me pumped up and in the right headspace to workout. I try to avoid sad or depressing music and listen to songs that are upbeat and motivate me to get moving. Some really good examples include early 2000’s pop or rap music, such as the Black Eyed Peas or Britney Spears.
- Switch it up
You do not have to do the same workout everyday to see results; that can get boring and quickly burn you out. I recommend doing a couple days in the gym using weights and then a couple of days focusing on a cardio workout. Adding in some Pilates or yoga classes can really help give you a balance.
- Take rest days
Rest days are very important if you want to enjoy your workouts and see results. Burning out at the gym can be very easy, so it’s important to listen to your body and rest when you need it. You also don’t need to do an intense workout every time, a relaxing walk can still count as good exercise.
- Push yourself
Even though listening to your body and allowing rest is important, it is also important to really push yourself to reach your goals. It is really effective to try hard and go until failure sometimes when you’re exercising; it is the only way to really see results. The endorphins you feel after working hard always makes it worth it.
