With spring just around the corner new trends and styles will shortly follow. So in order to help you build your dream spring wardrobe I have condensed all of the must know information into one place. But before we begin, all information here is based on fashion week, opinion and what I have personally seen/read. So as we put away our sweaters and bring out the shorts I present a spring 2023 fashion guide book.

Let’s start with something spring is well known for… color!

We saw lots of colors grace the catwalks last fall as we were presented the spring fashion collections. One color that will make many people happy is black. Deep, dark black was seen throughout multiple shows including Saint Laurent and Max Mara’s. However for those of you that like to add color to your day to day looks, there are still a lot of colors in store. The fashion world is moving slightly away from kelly green. We were presented with another shade of the color that surrounds us through nature. You can expect to see quite a bit of key lime green throughout the spring clothes this season. Accompanying Key lime green this spring will be true red, shades of pink (Barbi pink is slowly exiting but it is not quite gone.), deep blues, mellow yellow, muted lavender and some pastels. Do we have Taylor Swift’s lavender Haze to thank for this spring’s color choice?

Before we get any further, remember fashion is all about what you want to express and it has nothing to do with trends or how new things are. At the end of the day the only thing that matters is what you want to wear and what you feel comfortable in. If you feel comfortable you will in turn feel more confident which will result in you being happier.  So you do exactly what it is you want and own it. You look great!

When it comes to fabrics, textures and patterns expect to see some more of the same but also some new. 3D flowers seemed to be a big theme among brands including collections from  Magda Butrym’s and  Loewe’s Anthuriums. Camo may be leaving the scene of the fashion world for now, but will it be replaced by blurred prints? Technology has played a part to create a fabric print that includes blurred colors blended together. You can also expect to see lots of metallics as they seem to be here to stay. Lastly, expect to see a lot of skin as sheer fabrics are a big thing this spring. We will also see the return of things like crochet items.

Specifics we will see this spring include oversized pockets, which I personally am thrilled about (maybe womens clothing will finally be able to hold things like mens) . We can also anticipate trousers and knee length skirts. Ballet flats are making a comeback so for all of you who don’t love heels, don’t you worry. I think this spring is going to include a lot of practical options. The beloved small bags are moving to the side as we now see huge bags making way and taking the center stage. As stated earlier sheer fabrics will be common this spring but we can also expect skin to be shown by wearing bras and lingerie as tops. Though this is by no means a new revelation it is more common this year. When it comes to dresses we will still see little black dresses but can also look forward to baby doll dresses that have some 60’s fashion inspiration. The last accessories that made a big splash were long and big earrings that made a statement.

When it comes to overarching trends for this spring you can detect quite a bit of inspiration from formula one, tennis skirts seem to not have the chokehold they used to so perhaps formula one based designs will take over. We will continue to see 90’s silhouettes and grunge fashion but can also expect ballet core to be making some waves. So now that you are up to date with the spring 2023 fashion trends I cant wait to see what you all wear!
